Prepare the filling: Brown the mince in a frying pan over a medium heat. Drain off any excess liquid. Add the taco seasoning mix and 100 ml water and stir well. Bring to the boil, then reduce the heat and simmer uncovered for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the liquid has reduced.
Warm the taco shells OVEN: Preheat the oven to 180°C (160°C fan), Gas Mark 4. Place the taco shells open-side down on a baking tray and warm in the preheated oven for 2–3 minutes. MICROWAVE (900W): Place the taco shells open-side down on a microwave-safe plate. Heat on full power for 1 minute. If warming fewer shells, reduce the time accordingly. Cooking times may vary depending on your microwave.
Fill and enjoy: Serve the warmed taco shells and let everyone build their own with the beef mince, grated cheese, diced tomatoes, lettuce and the mild taco salsa. Also delicious with guacamole or sour cream.
